The current lifestyle card (most new sales)

GFiber’s public support table lists three lifestyle products. Taxes and local fees sit on top. Equipment, installation, and unlimited data are included in the monthly rate — there is no separate modem rent on the standard internet line.

• Core 1 Gig — $70/month. Symmetrical 1 Gbps. Wi-Fi 6E router and up to one mesh extender. Free professional or self-install. Aimed at apartments and smaller homes that stream and browse.
• Home 3 Gig — $100/month. Symmetrical 3 Gbps. Multi-gig Wi-Fi 6E router (Wi-Fi 7 kit where GFiber has it in that city) and up to two extenders. Free professional install with Priority Room Optimization for eligible homes. Optional Internet Battery Backup about $10/month.
• Edge 8 Gig — $150/month. Symmetrical 8 Gbps. Same multi-gig / Wi-Fi 7 kit path as Home, two extenders, Priority Room Optimization, battery backup included, plus an Uptime Guarantee that credits 25% under the terms of service if GFiber misses the promise.

GFiber Phone, where offered, is commonly about $20/month extra. Live TV is a bring-your-own streamer conversation, not a classic cable pack on the fiber bill.

Original plans you may still be on (or still be offered)

If you signed up years ago, or your city has not flipped the lifestyle names, the original ladder is still in GFiber’s own documentation:

Upgraded markets: $70 for 3 Gig

In January 2026 GFiber began flipping some cities — Des Moines was the public first — so that Core 3 Gig is $70 and Home 5 Gig is $100, with Edge 8 Gig still $150. The company framed it as keeping the 2012 $70 entry price while raising the default speed. If your order page says Core 3 Gig for $70, that is this program, not a typo. If it still says Core 1 Gig for $70, you are on the older lifestyle map. Always believe the city-specific storefront.

What is included (and what is not)

• Included: data with no cap, Wi-Fi router, mesh units as listed for the tier, standard installation (self or pro, depending on the product and home).
• Usually not extra: a modem rental line. GFiber is not a cable-modem business.
• Extra: taxes/fees, optional phone, optional battery on Home 3 Gig (~$10), replacement fees if you cancel and do not return equipment on time (GFiber has described a 60-day return window in offer terms).
• Contracts: GFiber is sold without a traditional annual term. You can leave; you do still owe equipment back.

The limit is geography. GFiber is a collection of metro builds, not a national footprint. If the truck cannot reach the house, the price card is trivia. Check the address; do not assume a city name on a press release means your subdivision is live.

Which GFiber tier is enough?

Core / 1 Gig at $70 is the right default for almost every household that is not moving workstation-sized files all day. Multiple 4K streams, consoles, and homework fit. Home / 3 Gig at $100 is for dense device counts, multi-gig Wi-Fi ambitions, and people who will actually use a 2.5G or 10G wired port. Edge / 8 Gig at $150 is a specialist SKU: creators, labs, and anyone buying the uptime credit and included battery as much as the bits. Wi-Fi, not the ONT, is the bottleneck in a normal drywall house long before 8 Gbps.

If you are on an original 2 Gig or 5 Gig plan, there is no emergency to “upgrade” to a lifestyle name unless GFiber is offering a better kit or a higher speed at the same dollars (the Core 3 Gig flips).
